 너희가 믿을 때에 성령을 받았느냐?

사도행전 19:2-7

 

 

1. 성령을 알지 못한 에베소의 사람들

소아시아 지역의 에베소에는 바울이 방문하기 전부터 이미 예수님을 믿는 성도들이 있었습니다. 그러나 저들은 침례요한을 통해 '메시아가 곧 오신다는 것'만 알았을 뿐 예수님이 하신 정확한 일을 알지 못하였습니다. 예수님은 이 땅에 오셔서 십자가에서 죽으시고 부활하심으로 우리의 죄를 사하셨고, 우리에게 성령을 부어주셨습니다. 우리는 이제 요한의 침례를 넘어 성령으로 충만받고 침례받아야 합니다.

 

2. 성령을 통해 변화된 삶

에베소에서 성경을 가르치던 아볼로는 성령침례를 받은 후 새로운 사명을 발견하여 고린도로 이동하였습니다. 에베소의 열두 지도자들은 성령이 계심을 알지도 못하였으나 바울에게 안수받은 후 성령의 능력을 받아 교회를 아름답게 이끌어 나갔습니다. 이처럼 우리가 성령으로 충만할 때 가장 아름다운 신앙의 삶을 살아갈 수 있습니다. 예수 믿고, 성령 받아 승리의 삶을 살아가는 모두가 되시길 축복합니다.

1. Ephesians Unaware of the Holy Spirit

The Ephesus, in the region of Asia, there were believers even before Paul's visit. However, their understanding was limited to knowing that the 'Messiah would come', through the baptism of John. They were not aware of Jesus—His death on the cross, resurrection, and the pouring of the Holy Spirit. We should move beyond John's baptism to the fullness of the Spirit.

 

2. Changed Lives Through the Holy Spirit

Apollos, who taught the Scriptures in Ephesus, moved to Corinth after receiving baptism in the Holy Spirit. The twelve leaders in Ephesus who did not know about Holy Spirit were able to lead the church effectively by the Spirit of God. Like this, we can live a victorious and beautiful life when we be filled with the Holy Spirit. May all who believed in Jesus and received the Holy Spirit live a victorious life.
