성령으로 침례를 받으리라

사도행전 1:4-5

 

1. 성령님은 누구이신가?

하나님은 성부, 성자, 성령 삼위일체로 존재하십니다. 특별히 성령은 구약에서 하나님의 영으로, 신약에서는 예수님의 영으로 나타나셨는데, 예수님은 성령의 오심을 기다리라고 말씀하셨습니다. 성령은 우리 안에 들어와 영원토록 동행해 주시는 동일한 하나님이십니다.

 

2. 성령께서 행하신 일

1) 담대하게 변한 예수님의 제자들

성령 받은 예수님의 제자들은 모두 담대해졌습니다. 이는 성령이 그들 속에 임하셔서 생각과 마음을 변화시켰기 때문입니다. 세상이 어두워질수록 우리 마음을 담대하게 지켜주시는 성령의 능력을 반드시 받아야 합니다.

 

2) 예루살렘에 교회를 세우심

성령 받은 제자들이 나아가 말씀을 증거할 때 수많은 사람들이 예수님을 믿었습니다. 저들은 예수님의 가르침을 기억하고 실천하며 예루살렘에 최초의 교회를 세웠습니다. 이처럼 성령받은 사람들은 교회를 세우고 부흥시키는 일에 최선을 다합니다. 그리고 하나님은 교회를 통해 이 땅을 축복해 주십니다.

 

3) 땅끝까지 복음이 전파됨

성령강림 후 복음은 온 세상으로 전파되었습니다. 성령이 오신 후로 하나님은 모든 민족의 하나님이요, 예수님은 온 인류의 구주가 되셨습니다. 그리고 우리도 각자의 자리에서 하나님의 일을 감당하게 되었습니다.

1. Who is the Holy Spirit?

God exists as the Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is seen as God's Spirit in the Old Testament and Jesus’ Spirit in the New Testament. Jesus told His followers to await the Holy Spirit who is the God living within us and guiding us.

 

2. The Works of the Holy Spirit

1) Empowering the Disciples

After receiving the Holy Spirit, Jesus' disciples became courageous. The Holy Spirit entered their lives, transforming their thoughts and hearts. As the world becomes more challenging, we need the Holy Spirit's power to keep our hearts strong.

 

2) Establishing the Church in Jerusalem

When the Spirit-filled disciples went out to proclaim the Word, many people came to believe in Jesus. They practiced Jesus' teachings, leading to the establishment of the first church in Jerusalem. Those who filled with the Holy Spirit are dedicated to building the church which God blesses the world.

 

3) Spreading the Gospel to the End of the Earth

After the Holy Spirit descended, the Gospel spread throughout the world. God became the God of all nations, and Jesus the Savior of all humanity in the Holy Spirit. We are also called to fulfill God’s work in our own places.
