     한밤중에 드린 찬송 

사도행전 16:22-25

 

 

1. 빌립보에서 당한 고난

빌립보에서 귀신들린 여종을 돕던 바울과 실라는 억울하게 누명을 쓰고 아무 잘못도 없이 매를 맞고 옥에 갇히게 되었습니다. 사단은 하나님의 일을 하는 사람들을 방해하고 영적으로 공격하기 때문에 신실한 사람들이 오히려 많은 시험을 겪게 되는 것입니다. 우리가 다가오는 모든 시험을 피할 수 없지만, 마음에 용기와 힘을 가지면 이겨낼 수 있습니다. 바울과 실라는 한밤중에 감옥에서 하나님을 찬송함으로 모든 시험을 이겨냈습니다.

 

2. 간수장의 회심

바울과 실라가 찬송할 때 큰 지진이 일어나 모든 옥문이 다 열렸고, 감옥을 지키지 못한 간수장은 스스로 생명을 끊으려고 하였습니다. 바울과 실라는 도망가지 않고 간수장에게 복음을 전하여 그의 온 가정이 구원을 받고 빌립보 교회의 성도가 되었습니다. 이처럼 감사와 찬송은 우리가 당한 어려운 상황을 바꾸어 복된 결과를 만들어 냅니다. 어려운 상황 속에서 더 크게 감사하는 성도들이 되어야 합니다.

 

3. 데살로니가와 베뢰아의 사람들

바울은 데살로니가에서도 유대인들의 박해을 당하지만, '야손'의 도움으로 생명을 지킬 수 있었습니다. 또 베뢰아에서는 많은 사람들이 너그럽게 바울의 말에 귀를 기울여주었습니다. 이처럼 하나님께서는 어려운 전도여행 중에 있는 바울에게 계속 좋은 만남들을 허락하심으로 그의 길을 인도해 주셨습니다.

1. Hardship in Philippi

Paul and Silas were falsely accused in Philippi cause of helping a girl who possessed by evil spirit. They were unjustly beaten and thrown into prison without any wrongdoing. Satan often obstructs those who serve God and attacks faithful individuals spiritually. Although we cannot avoid every trial that comes our way, we can overcome with courage and strength in our hearts, Paul and Silas break through every trials through singing hymns to God in the midnight at the prison.

 

2. Conversion of the Jailer

As Paul and Silas were praising, a big earthquake occurred and all the prison doors were opened. The jailer, unable to bear the shame of a perceived escape, attempted suicide. However, Paul and Silas stayed and shared the gospel with the jailer, leading to the salvation of him and his household. We can find that gratitude and praise can turn our hardships into blessed outcomes. We ought to express our thanksgiving even in difficult circumstances.

 

3. The Jews in Thessalonica and Beroea

Paul faced persecution from the Jews in Thessalonica but with the help of Jason, he managed to preserve his life. In Beroea, many people welcomed and listened attentively to Paul's words. Like this, God guides the path of Paul`s missionary journeys through allowed him to have a favorable meetings continuously.
