 오직 은혜

엡 2:8-9

 

 

(엡 2:8) 너희는 그 은혜에 의하여 믿음으로 말미암아 구원을 받았으니 이것은 너희에게서 난 것이 아니요 하나님의 선물이라 (엡 2:9) 행위에서 난 것이 아니니 이는 누구든지 자랑하지 못하게 함이라

 

 

1. 면죄부사건으로 시작된 종교개혁

15세기 가톨릭교회가 로마 대성당을 짖기 위해 면죄부를 판매하였는데, 이는 성경의 구원론과 완전히 어긋난 교리였습니다. 루터는 95개조 반박문을 만들어 비텐베르크 성문에 붙였고, 거대한 종교개혁 운동의 시작 되었습니다. 이를 통해 우리는 물질을 잘 관리하고 사용하는 것이 삶속에서 얼마나 중요한지 알 수 있습니다. 특별히 하나님의 사람들은 자신의 자리에서 최선을 다해 일하며 주어진 물질을 하나님 기뻐하시는 뜻대로 사용하기 위해 힘써야 합니다.

 

2. 값없이 주시는 하나님의 은혜

가톨릭교회가 성도들에게 많은 돈을 요구하는 동안 루터는 성경을 통해 구원이 값없이 주신 하나님의 은혜를 깨달았습니다. 하나님께서 예수님을 통해 구원을 다 이루시고 우리에게 모든 것을 선물로 주셨습니다. 하나님이 우리에게 요구하신 것은 어떤 행위나 대가가 아닌 오직 믿음 뿐이었습니다. 루터는 예수 그리스도를 믿는 우리가 아무것도 드린 것이 없을지라도 예수 그리스도의 공로를 통해 구원받을 수 있으며 그 구원은 빼았기지 않는다고 하였습니다.

 

3. 은혜받은 자의 삶

하나님의 자녀가 된 우리는 삶속에 은혜받은 자의 모습이 있는지 스스로 점검해야 합니다. 하나님의 크신 은혜를 값없이 경험한 자는 먼저 넘치는 감사와 겸손한 마음으로 살게 됩니다. 절대로 교만하게 세상을 살 수 없습니다. 또한 은혜를 경험한 사람은 자원하는 마음으로 교회를 섬기게 됩니다. 교회는 강요와 형식이 아닌 기쁨과 감사, 그리고 자발적인 마음으로 더욱 풍성해집니다. 하나님께서 우리에게 주신 은사와 재능을 통해 하나님의 나라를 세워나가는 모두가 되시기를 바랍니다.

1. Church Reformation Started with the Indulgence Issue

In the 15th century, the Catholic Church sold indulgences to raise money for building the St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. It was absoulutely different doctrine from the salvation teachings in the Bible. Luther wrote the Ninety-Five Theses and posted it on the Castle Church door in Wittenberg, which marked the beginning of the Church Reformation. From this, we understand how important it is to handle and use our belongings well in life. Especially, God's people should work hard in their position and try to use the things God gives us in a way that makes Him pleased.

 

2. God's Grace Given Without Cost

While the Catholic Church asked for a lot of money from its followers, Luther realized through the Bible that God's grace gives us salvation without any cost. God accomplished salvation through Jesus Christ and has given us everything as a gift. What God required from us was not any action or payment, but only faith. Luther said that even if we have offered nothing, we can receive salvation by faith, and this salvation cannot be taken away.

 

3. The Life of Person who Has Experienced Grace

As children of God, we should examine whether our lives reflect the traits of Gods`s grace. Those who have experienced the grace of God should be lived with overflowing gratitude and a humble heart. We can not live with arrogance attitude. Furthermore, those who have experienced grace willingly serve the church with a true heart. The church thrives not through coercion and formality, but through joy, thanksgiving, and voluntary contributions. May we all use the gifts and talents God has given us to establish His kingdom and bring His grace to this world.
