 바울의 마지막 당부

사도행전 20:33-38

 

 

1. 밀레도에 멈춘 바울

새로운 사명을 발견한 바울은 예루살렘으로 돌아가는 길에 밀레도라는 곳에서 에베소의 리더들과 마지막 인사를 나눕니다. 바울이 직접 에베소에 방문하지 않은 이유는 그의 마음이 흔들려 사명을 포기하지 않기 위함이었습니다. 바울의 마음속에는 사명에 대한 순종과 에베소 교회에 대한 사랑이 모두 있었습니다.

 

2. 바울의 마지막 당부

1) 가르친 모든 것을 기억하라

바울은 에베소에서 무려 3년간 눈물로 하나님의 진리를 가르쳤습니다. 이토록 긴 시간동안 바울에게 배울 수 있었던 것은 에베소 교회의 큰 유익이었습니다. 비록 바울은 사명을 따라 에베소를 떠나갔지만, 그가 남긴 모든 가르침을 꼭 기억해 달라고 당부하였습니다.

 

2) 하나님의 말씀을 붙잡으라

바울은 자신이 떠난 뒤로 교회가 흔들리지 않기 위해 하나님의 말씀을 붙잡으라고 당부하였습니다. 인간은 부족하고 연약하지만 하나님의 말씀은 살아있는 완전한 진리이기 때문입니다. 2024년 새해에 우리가 다시 한번 하나님의 말씀 붙잡는 일에 최선을 다할 것을 다짐할 수 있기를 바랍니다.

 

3) 삶으로 보인 신앙의 모습을 기억하라

바울은 에베소에 있는 동안 삶을 통해 직접 믿음을 본을 보여 주었습니다. 그는 아무 은이나 금을 탐하지 않고 받는 것보다 나누어 주기 위해 힘썼습니다. 에베소의 리더들은 바울의 깊은 사랑에 감사하며 그를 안고 울며 환송하였습니다.

1. Paul Preached at the Miletus

Paul stops at Miletus on his way back to Jerusalem to share the last words with the leaders of Ephesus. The reason Paul didn't visit Ephesus is to prevent wavering on his mission. Paul has the unshaken obedience to the mission, also a profound love for the Ephesian church in his heart.

 

2. Paul's Last Advice

1) Remember All I Taught
Paul taught the truth of God with tears in Ephesus for three years. It was great benefit for the Ephesian church what they have learned long time from the Paul. Although Paul departed Ephesus following his mission, he earnestly urged them to remember all he taught.

 

2) Hold the Word of God
To ensure the church remained steadfast after his leaving, Paul pleaded with them to stand firm on the Word of God. Human is weak and limited but the God's word is a living and complete truth. As we step into the new year of 2024, let's commit to holding fast to God's word with our whold heart.

 

3) Rememeber the demonstrated Faith in Life
Paul demonstrated faith through his life in Ephesus. He exerted effort not coveting silver or gold but working hard to give to others. The Ephesian leaders grateful for Paul's deep love and embraced him with tears and heartfelt farewells.
