이웃을 기쁘게 하되

로마서 15:1-2

 

 

1. 비판하지 말라

바울은 구원받은 성도들에게 서로 비판하지 말 것을 부탁합니다. 우리는 주님이 용서하신 존귀한 사람들입니다. 불필요한 비교와 비판 경쟁에서 벗어나 모두가 잘 되도록 서로 칭찬하고 격려해야 합니다. 주님을 위해 산다는 것은 곧 주님이 구원한 우리의 이웃을 위해 사는 것입니다.

 

2. 자기를 기쁘게 하지 않는 삶

나아가 우리는 자기를 부인하며 살아야 합니다. 이것은 자신을 하대하고 비관하는 것이 아닙니다. 먼저 하나님의 영광을 구하고 이웃의 기쁨을 구하는 것입니다. 공동체는 이렇게 자기를 부인하고 헌신하는 사람들을 통해 건강하게 세워집니다.

 

3. 하나 됨의 열매

이처럼 서로를 향한 비판을 내려놓고, 자기를 부인하며, 이웃을 기쁘게 할 때 하나님께서는 하나 됨의 열매를 내려 주십니다. 서로를 이해하고 생각과 마음이 하나 되는 것보다 소중한 것은 없습니다.

 

 

 

 

"Pleasing Our Neighbor"

Romans 15:1-2

 

1. Do Not Judge

Paul urges believers to avoid criticizing one another. As people redeemed by the Lord, we are called to leave behind unnecessary comparisons and criticisms. Instead, we should support, praise, and encourage one another. Living for the Lord means living for our neighbors, whom God has saved.

 

2. Do Not Seek Self-Pleasure

We are called to deny ourselves. It does not mean belittling or dismissing ourselves, but by placing God’s glory and our neighbor’s joy above our own desires. A healthy community is built through people who choose dedicate themselves to serving others.

 

3. The Blessing of Unity

As we release criticism, deny ourselves, and aim to bring joy to our neighbors, God blesses us with the fruit of unity. There is nothing more precious than understanding each other and becoming one in thought and heart.
